Emergency Support Program
The Emergency Response Program is designed to offer a comprehensive 90-day support framework. Placing agencies have the option to request extensions every 30 days beyond this initial period, facilitated through the completion of a Service Extension Application. This application must detail efforts made to secure alternative placements, alongside reasons for the agency's inability to provide service. Eligibility for the program requires children and youth to necessitate a minimum of 60 days of services.
This service proves particularly advantageous in several scenarios, including instances where placing agencies await community beds, sudden removals from biological families, insufficient information for suitable placements, or the need for behavior stabilization.
In the event that a child or youth requires long-term care, placing agencies have the opportunity to consider placement in Bridgeview’s Variance Program, subject to availability. The overarching goal of the Emergency Response Program is to specifically cater to the needs of children and youth identified under individual service agreements (ISAs), maintaining consistent support hours.
